Andrei Kovaltchuk is a sculptor, people's painter of Russia, chairman of Russian Artists Union, member of presidium of Russian academy of art.

  He got the most popularity for making the memorial "To the Victims of Chernobyl". The works of the sculptor are in The State Tretyakov Gallery, another museums of Russia, SNG countries, many private and corporative collections of France, Germany, Belgium, USA, Japan and another countries. Many works were marked by different rewards and premiums.

December 2005 year - laureate of prize of Russian Federation Government in culture for monuments to F.I. Tjutchev in Bryansk and Munich.

2006 - Member of presidium of Advice at the President of the Russian Federation on culture and art.
